Where to get quality silk flowers for new wreath Business?
I've designed silk flower wreaths for many years, and, after seeing a couple of other online designers earn $150.00-$250.00+ per wreath, I decided to start my own online wreath business. I've invested a lot in flowers and supplies and made my first two wreaths for the business, and but I'm pretty down about it all and wondering if this is a good idea after all. I realize that there's very little room for profit as these lavish wreaths are so expensive to make. I've easily sunk about $125.00+ into each of the wreaths I've made so far--not counting the many hours it took me to make them.
These other designers must be getting their silk flowers somewhere at a much lower price--or have some inside connection to the silk flower market.
Any ideas about how to cut cost or a source where I can get quality silk flowers for less than retail?
I've already checked out AFloral.com and placed an order...but they are very limited in what they offer, and I don't feel that their prices are that low--certainly not any lower than Michael's or Hobby Lobby during a sale.
I realize too that after the holiday season, I can likely get some quality silks for as much as 75% off, but that doesn't help me much now.
Thanks in advance!
I'm in Missouri.
Watchdog, I've enabled email in my profile. Please email me if you know of a distributor. I live in St. Joseph, MO. Thanks!
I am in the wholesale florist business. If you can give your location I may be able to direct you to a wholesale distributor.

How to place favicon inside the new Yahoo toolbar?
I have noticed since I have downloaded the new Yahoo toolbar that I can place my own favorite sites in the toolbar with an image. I want to offer vistors to my silk flowers website (http://www.Afloral.com) the option to click a link and automatically place our link in their toolbar with our image. This would help our floral designers to place us as one of their top favorites or most visited sites. Any help from Yahoo would be outstanding.
I want to be able to provide a link on my site for customers to click and automatically place a shortcut in the Yahoo toolbar
Open the settings tab and enter add/edit. Use the make your own button tab and put the link in the URL window. Label it and pick an icon. Change the layout before you finish.
Would these bouquets & wedding dresses go together nicely?
I'm having a beach wedding next spring with a Spanish flare, so I'd like to have bold red & yellow colors.
I'm trying to decide between these 2 wedding dresses:

This is the bridal bouquet that I want-cascading orchids:

And barefoot sandals for the beach:

*I'd like to have my hair curled and down with either a silk flower or a crystal headband.*
I'm trying to decide between these 2 colors for bridesmaid dresses-either red or yellow:

Bridesmaid bouquet-red gerber daisies & yellow roses w/ crystal accents.
Also, how should I distinguish my maid of honor? Should I have her wear the same dress, but in a different color (either yellow or red) or should she have a different bouquet or sash?
What do you all think?? Please give your feedback along with other suggestions.

I like the first dress. It seems more "elegant beach" themed to me rather than the second dress. I don't really care for the BM's dresses but that's just me. I like the color red you have chosen. If you do yellow, and if you're getting married on the beach, I would shy away from the golden-yellow you picked; it would blend too easily in with the sand. I like the bouquet and it will look really nice and flow well with the first dress since you have the nice detail down the front. For your MOH why not have her in the same dress but carry a different colored bouquet? For example, say you do pick red and have yellow as an accent color. Have the BM's wear red and have red and yellow gerbera daisies and then your MOH carry yellow daisies alone. It will help distinguish her but keep the pictures "uniform". Best of luck!
How much SHOULD I be earning an hour?
I work as a Professional Floral Designer. I have a degree in Horticulture and 10+ years work experience. My work experience includes but is not limited to:(this is what I do every day) Designing/arranging fresh cut and silk flowers per customer order; answering phones; waiting on customers; plant care (watering etc); processing fresh cuts when they first come in, cleaning and basic shop up-keep; occasional delivery, some basic computer work; ordering some product from wholesalers (not too often though..) and managing the shop when the boss isn't here...which seems like most of the time......I am her only employee and get $8.10/ hour...am I getting screwed or what? If she gives me a raise, she cuts back the number of hours I work.
Oh, I live in Central NY State....not near the city
My degree has everything to do with my job..I specialized in floral design..that was my main focus area in college...everything else was just a bonus....(like the greenhouse mngmnt courses...)
Sounds like you need to find someone else to work for.
